“I
can do all things through him who strengthens
me.” Philippians 4:13
Pastor Rev. Raymond B. Wilkins
is a native of Spartanburg County, South Carolina
where he, along with his twin, was born the
eighth child of eight children to Mrs. Rose
G. Wilkins and the late Mr. Floyd Wilkins.
He was educated in Spartanburg County public
schools, and attended James F. Byrnes High School
Duncan, South Carolina.
Pastor Wilkins received and accepted Christ
at an early age while attending Moore’s
Chapel Baptist Church, Duncan, SC., and began
serving in many ministries including the usher
and choir ministry. He served as Chairman of
the Trustee ministry and was later elected as
Chairman of the Deacon’s ministry. While
serving as Chairman of the Deacon’s ministry
God called him into the gospel ministry in September
2003, and he preached his initial sermon on
September 11, 2005. Pastor Wilkins was a member
of the Meadowbrook All Male Choir from 1980
until 1983. He still enjoys singing songs of
Zion.
Pastor Wilkins enrolled in Virginia College
in 2012 with emphasis in Business Management
where he earned his Associates Degree. He has
currently received his Master degree of Theology
from M.C. Garvin School of Theology held at
the St. John Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC
under the instruction of the Rev. Dr. M.C. Garvin.
He served as Associate Minister of New Fellowship
Baptist Church in Wellford, SC from October
2003 until November 2007. He went on to become
pastor of James Hopewell Baptist Church in Newberry,
SC from November 2007 until January 2010 and
Abel Baptist Church in Clemson, SC from December
2011 until January 2013. He is currently the
pastor of the newly formed Greater Faith Baptist
Church in Clemson, SC.
Pastor Wilkins is faithfully united in marriage
to First Lady Robin A. Wilkins. Together they
share five children: Jamar, Raymond Jr., Shalonda,
Denetrice, Rayvond; and two grandchildren, Mackenzie
and Jamaria.
Although degrees are important nothing is more
important than being a child of God, teacher
of God’s Holy Word, born again Christian,
a servant, a warrior for Christ and a called
messenger for the Most High God.
Pastor Wilkins Favorite quote is: “I
can do all things through Christ”
